Spice Diana: Cost of collab with Diamond if you refuse to sleep with him

Spice Diana has revealed that collaborating with Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz comes with a steep cost unless one is willing to sleep with him. The Ugandan singer disclosed that the main reason for not releasing any music together is the high production expense, stating that she would need approximately $50,000 (about Shs184 million) to meet the standards of a music video with him.

During an appearance on UBC TV, Diana revealed that although they have recorded several songs, it currently doesn't make financial sense to invest such a significant amount of money. She claimed that the only way to reduce the cost of working with Platnumz would be to comply with his sexual advances, which she turned down last year. This decision was one of the reasons their long-anticipated collaboration has yet to be released.

“We have more than one song, but honestly... it is the money,” Diana said. “The kind of money needed to do a video with him is too much... I mean, this is a guy who recently did a collab with Jason [Derulo]. When he performs in Uganda, he earns at least $100,000—that’s money I have never made in my life. That means if I want to make a video with him, it has to be at least $50,000.”

Diana further shared that Diamond had suggested an easier way to collaborate, but it involved something she wasn't willing to offer. “If he was to make it easy for me, it would involve giving up something I don’t easily give up,” she admitted.

“I am stingy when it comes to that, and I prefer doing my business straight. The easy option was there, and had I chosen it, he might have even done the video free of charge because I’m a good-looking woman. But I decided we either do business as friends or part ways.”

She added, “As a female artist, these are some of the challenges we face. You've seen what's happening with Diddy; I don't want to go down that path. This industry is dirty.”

Diamond had initially promised to release new songs with Diana after visiting Uganda for a Comedy Store concert in July last year.
