Bucha Man, real name Mark Bugembe, was 2019, appointed as President Museveni’s advisor on Ghetto affairs.
He rose to fame in 2005 after releasing a song with a title that passionately asks the ladies -- Lwaki Temumatira? -- (loosely translated as Why don't you like me?). The song topped 2005's local charts and Bucha Man instantly became a star.
His appointment was strategic as the president wanted someone to Bobi Wine, real name, Robert Kyagulanyi, who was vying with him in the 2021 presidential elections.
A ghetto poster boy, Bobi Wine in April 2017 announced his candidacy for parliament in a by-election for Kyadondo County East constituency, pitting himself against two seasoned candidates – Sitenda Sebalu of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party and Apollo Kantinti of the main opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
It was a landslide victory for him.
Catherine Kusasira was also appointed presidential advisor on Kampala Affairs in 2019.
A founding member of Golden Band Production, Kusasira is one of the highly-regarded singers of her generation.
The daughter of Wilberforce and Deborah Luwandagga attended Dynamic S.S. and St. Balikuddembe S.S. Mitala Maria. She is currently at Nkumba University where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy program.
