Suuna Ben is strongly attached to radio, so he believed joining Next Media to work for Sanyuka TV would have been a terrible career move.

Ben, who works with both Bukedde radio and television, said his gut told him to stick to radio.

The deejay, who was speaking to Gossip Live, said the offer at Next Media was enticing, but his instincts discouraged him from taking it.

"I don't like deciding when I'm excited," he said, adding: "It was a big move."

Rumors of Suuna Ben joining the Naguru-based media conglomerate swirled in August 2022 when pictures appeared on social media showing him with the company's Chief Executive Kin Kariisa and his deputy, Joe Kigozi.

Suuna Ben hails from Kimanya, Masaka, and was born to John Kayondo and Proscovia Namata.

He is the second-born in a family of six siblings. His early education journey took him through various schools, including Kimanya Nursery School, Kimanya Primary School, Kijabwene Primary School, Exodus Vocational Secondary School, and Stella Maris S.S.S.

From a young age, Ben demonstrated a passion for music and entertainment.

He engaged in a variety of activities such as making cassette music mixes and deejaying at local functions during the era of tapes.

His involvement with a dance troupe called Drumbeat, as well as his participation in karaoke and working in a hotel, further honed his skills and broadened his experiences in the entertainment industry.

It was during his karaoke days that he met someone who introduced him to the world of radio.

His first job in the industry was with Radio Equator, which was followed by a stint at Buddu FM, where he unfortunately did not receive any payment for his work. Despite this setback, Ben's determination led him to join Bukedde FM and TV.

His transition to Bukedde FM was facilitated by interaction with Moses Walugembe of Agataliko Nfufu over Facebook.

Walugembe inquired if Suuna Ben would be willing to relocate to Kampala.

At the time, Herbert Kabanda, who had initially taken him to Buddu FM, had joined Bukedde as a manager. Walugembe spoke with Kabanda, and the move to Bukedde was executed swiftly.
