Kyazze had a futuristic pitch.
"... maybe now you're a good producer. But we don't know if you will be good tomorrow," Julius Kyazze told Benon Mugumbya, according to the interview he had with NBS Face Off in 2019. "But we can build something that can help you and the generations to come. And Benon listened, and we formed a partnership, registered Swangz Avenue, became a formal business and the rest is history as they say."
The record label has over the years nurtured many talents and produced household names like Irene Ntale, Vinka, Winnie Nwagi and Azawi.
During the show, Kyazze also shared a bit of his background, noting that he was initially a professional dancer in a group called Eclipse Dance Group.
They scored many successes under this group, including performing at Miss Uganda and PAM Awards.
They even landed opportunities to perform in Nairobi and it was while in Kenya that he got an idea to start a publication, Buzz Magazine, and dropped out of school.
He was in his second year pursuing two degrees: software engineering, and a bachelor of science in information technology. This was between 2002 & 2004, he said.
Buzz later grew to become Buzz Events. Julius Kyazze had been a writer since school.
Kyazze was hails from Buikwe district, but he was raised in Mukono by a single mother.
