The first time Rema Namakula met Bebe Cool

As early as P.7, Rema Namakula was already backing up celebrated singers like Halima Namakula.

Halima owned No End Studios and she hired renowned producer Henry Kiwuwa to operate it.

When Rema was about to sit her Primary Leaving Examinations, Halima called her to back her up on Sambagala, her collabo with Bebe Cool.

They recorded in Cool’s absence and when he listened to Rema’s voice, he was moved and demanded to meet the person behind the voice.

That's how they met, according to a video seen by this reporter.

He then told her that after she's through with school, she'll join Gagamel International, his record label.

Rema was excited though she didn't even know the meaning of Gagamel.

Then when she was in S.4 at St. Balikudembe S.S. Mukono, Bebe Cool came there with Paul Saka, the teacher who had helped her win a “half bursary” because of her singing skills.

At the time Bebe was planning the Agenze concert.

He asked Rema to pick some three kids who would join her to back him up during the concert.

He rented them accommodation at Hotel Africana so they could get time to prepare for the show.

Rema said it was a great experience.

After S.6 exams, she called Bebe who was organizing another concert and he asked her to come and rehearse with them.

Cool's first collabo with Rema was Ceaze and Sekkle. In 2013, the Sili Muyembe singer unceremoniously left Gagamel Crew, which is owned by Cool, for a solo career.
