Lukoma launched a charm offensive against the duo of Kateleya & Kandle.
It all started when Lukoma was asked to offer advice to the duo, with the interviewer citing her experience working in singing groups.
During that August 2022 interview, Hellen Lukoma said: "I don't have advice for them. They started alone, why should I give them advice? Am I the one who brought them? Am I their mother? Let them do their thing."
When they landed an interview recently, Kateleya and Kandle saw an opportunity to sting Lukoma.
Kandle: For how long has Hellen Lukoma been singing?
Interviewer: You want to 'set me up'?
Kandle: No, you can tell us?
Interviewer: At least 10 years. Because she sang and danced [under Obsessions] and H.B. Toxic, and later a solo career.
Kandle: And for how long have you known us?... Isn't it two and a half years? Right now who has hit music?
Interviewer: You're putting me in a 'dangerous' position.
Kateleya: Tell us... who has hit music now?
In her latest media interview, Hellen Lukoma was asked to comment on what the duo said.
Interviewer: Kateleya and Kandle said you don't have good music.
Lukoma responded: Who said?
Interviewer: Kateleya?
Lukoma: Who is that, the one with disorganised teeth?
Interviewer: Yes. The one who looks Rwandan. [Most people think the Rwandan-looking one is Kateleya, but she is Kandle.]
Lukoma: What did she base on to say that?
Kateleya and Kandle, who are currently under the management of Theron Music, were trained by Cindy Sanyu when they were launching their music careers.
She is impressed by their progress.
"I trained them not in just in vocals, but even how to perform... if you saw how they were when they had just started you would be happy with where they are now," said Sanyu in a media interview.
"They are now doing a really good job."
On attacking Hellen Lukoma, Cindy noted: "... Give them time. They are just excited and young... they are good performers appreciate that... and ignore the rest... The pride will vanish."
Kandle said they wouldn't mind a music battle with Hellen Lukoma.
