The songstress, who gave birth to her daughter with Witta Nelson in January 2021, recently talked about her parenting journey.

"There are women who have kids but they go out," said the Bailando hitmaker when she was recently asked how she is balancing parenting and work.

"So, for me, I treat work as my outing."

She continued: "When I go back home, I look after my kid and the husband."

Nelson, Vinka's baby daddy is a businessman who hails from Isingiro district in western Uganda.

"It's not easy," she said, "but it's also not a big problem."

The Love Panic singer praised her husband for being supportive.

"I have a very supportive partner and I thank God for that... there are times when I have to work and the kid needs me," she said, "but I have to work."

Business

During the interview, Vinka, real name Veronica Luggya Nakiyingi, noted that she has a young business that was inspired by motherhood.

It's a daycare.

"I started a daycare facility for kids aged three months to three years... I will be giving details soon," she said.

According to the Fimbo hitmaker, it was after giving birth that she realised there could be mothers going through what she was facing.

"I decided to put up a facility for those parents that want to live their child in a comfortable home," she said. "Home away from home."

Competition

Swangz Avenue finally signed a male artiste in Elijah Kitaka after a long while and before him, they had signed Josephine Nakyoonyi, alias Zafaran.

Vinka was asked if she is afraid of the new competition.

"Competition is healthy," she said. "... at the end of the day, I'm not the first singer to be signed to [Swangz]."

She said she has been under Swangz Avenue for about 10 years and she is happy about what she is achieved under the label.

"I don't regret it," she said. "You know me because of Swangz Avenue... I started as an artiste manager... So, big up to Swangz Avenue."

Before Irene Ntale left Swangz Avenue in 2017, Vinka was her manager. Ntale had an acrimonious exit, but she recorded a collabo with Vinka titled Stylo in 2018.

Asked about holding a concert, she said it will be held when the time is right.
