Lubwama passed away on Wednesday, May 7th at around 1am at Stanna Medical Center in Bunamwaya. He’s reported to have succumbed to a heart attack.

At CBS FM where the comedian served for nearly two decades, the mood was very somber, particularly in the Kalisoliso morning show.

Presenter Abby Mukiibi revealed during the show that Lubwama had just confirmed that he was returning to the station on June 22nd to do a special Kalisoliso program with his old crew, as the station marks 27 years on air.

“Death is very interesting; I just talked to him and he said he was going to be with us as we celebrate 27 years,” said Mukiibi.

Lubwama parted ways with CBS as his schedule became tighter as Rubaga South Member of Parliament. Although he remained at the station for some time as he served in Parliament, he was only appearing on Fridays. He later on left the station after they brought in Wycliff Luyombya as his replacement.

“I left because at some point we became too congested in the studio,” Lubwama said in an interview in 2021.

Speaking about the circumstances of his death, Mukiibi said Lubwama suffered a mild attack at around midnight and that he struggled with breathing.

“They quickly rushed him to hospital but his heart stopped shortly after arrival,” he said.

The body of Lubwama, Mukiibi said, was conveyed to Mulago Hospital mortuary for postmortem from where it will be moved to a funeral home and later to his home in Mutundwe. He promised that more details on the funeral program will be communicated to the public in the due course.
