This year’s event is set for October 28, according to the showrunners.

The venue has also been switched from the lakeside Jahazi Pier in Munyonyo where it was last year, to Lugogo Cricket Oval in the heart of Kampala.

Speaking at the launch of the 2023 Oktoberfest at The Villa in Bukoto on Tuesday, Denis Asiimwe, the festival organiser, said this year’s event is planned to be much bigger and more exciting in terms of food, drinks, music performances and entertainment.

This year’s edition will have a lot of musicality to it; when you look at the strong lineup of artists that we are bringing.

“Gates are opening at midday; we want to start early so people can enjoy lunch at the show,” he said.

The Oktoberfest 2023 will be headlined by Leone Island’s Jose Chameleone and Cindy Sanyu.

Other artists lined up include Abeeka Band, Kohen Jaycee, Izabel Ras B, Dolv Gvng Chevank Bad Citizen, and many others.

Several sponsors led by beer makers Nile Breweries are throwing their weight behind this year’s Oktoberfest.

Like last year, Asiimwe says Brussels Airlines is once again giving out a fully paid ticket to Europe to the best-dressed persons at the festival.

The Ugandan version of the Oktoberfest (which has its roots in Germany) is aimed at strengthening Uganda-Germany bilateral relations while promoting the two countries’ cultures.

Early bird tickets are going for Shs 30k while at the gate it will be 40k for those paying with Stanbic’s Flexi Pay and 50k for those with cash.
