The party was graced by the singer’s inner circle, including her mother, her producers and management, her dance crew, as well the team that supported her during the September 15 battle concert at Kololo.
Noticeably, however, Cindy’s husband Prince Atiko Okuyo did not attend, and the singer said that he had a good reason for skipping the event.
Having been criticised for being “too close” to his wife, Cindy said Okuyo decided to let her shine this time.
“My husband couldn't be here today because he wanted me to shine on my own. He noticed that people were saying he was following me around and doing everything for me.
“But today, he decided that this should be my day to shine and he sent you all the love,” she said
Cindy thanked the people who stood with her amid great adversity, from some of her former dancers who came back to be with her during the show, to her gym members who offered her free security, as well as her unrelenting fans.
She also thanked her battle emcee Shafik Kayima who had to step up and replace DJ Nimrod when the latter came under attack from Sheebah’s fans.
“My first MC was DJ Nimrod and he did an amazing job, but he realized that the other team was attacking him in a really personal way and noticed that to save his image he had to step aside. But there are other people who don't fear danger, people like Kayima,” she said.
The former Blu*3 then proceeded to affirm herself as the battle winner, having been the “last woman standing” during the show.
