According to a post Drake put up on Instagram on Saturday night, the Toronto rapper placed his bet in the 1x2 market, which in betting, does not account for extra time.

Footage of Drake confirming his support for Argentina also appeared on social media, where one clip with a friend showed him saying, “I’ll take Argentina, he’ll take France,” while donning Napoli gear.

According to Yahoo news, the Toronto-native rapper is likely used to losing big bets in the sporting world, where some have even blamed their loses on the “Drake curse”.

Ahead of the final 2022 World Cup match, Twitter users joked after learning Drake has placed his bet on Argentina, with some fearing his wager would jinx the team from winning.

Nevertheless, Messi ended up leading Argentina to their first World Cup win since 1986, but only after a 4-2 penalty shootout.

The World Cup final is the latest big bet Drake has posted this year.

Back in February, Drake took home $1.4 million in winnings after placing $1.2 million for the Rams to win the Super Bowl over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Months later, Drake placed $200,000 Canadian dollars on the Warriors to win the Western Conference, which they did.
