Aisha exchanged marital vows with her lover Gabriel Gadison Ajedra Aridru yesterday, in the presence of family and friends.
Ajedra served twice in the cabinet, first as Junior Finance Minister in Charge of Investments from 2012 to 2016 and later from 2016 to 2021 as State Minister of Finance in charge of General Duties.
He also served as the elected member of parliament for Arua Municipality in Arua District until May 2021.
The marriage was administered at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) and witnessed by a handful of family members of the couple.
Taking to social media, Aisha trumpeted the news, posting, “Officially Mrs Aisha Alibhai Aridru.....”
The former minister, aged 61, recently divorced his wife Elizabeth Kamuhanda Aridru with whom they had been for five years.
He accused her among others of having a child outside of wedlock according to court documents.
News of Ajedra dating Aisha started emerging about about three years ago.
He reportedly converted to Islam for her.
In the mid-2000s Aisha became a staple for the city’s morning routine, hosting the morning show on Kfm alongside Roger Mugisha of the infamous Shadow’s Angels.
The duo’s infectious studio chemistry, eloquence, comedy and creativity drove them to the top of the business.
Mugisha left KFM in 2013 and Aisha followed three years later.
Aisha tried out politics in 2016, jumping into the parliamentary race for Soroti Municipality albeit unsuccessful.
In 2017, she was named the spokeswoman of the National Forestry Authority (NFA) a potion she held until 2022 when she landed a new job as one of the assistants of Speaker of Parliament, Anitah Among.
