The 13th edition of the Rukundo Egumeho Fest was last weekend’s highlight, bringing together folks who hail from the southwestern Kigezi sub-region, for a fun-filled evening in the heart of Kampala.

The festival better known as Bakiga Nation went down at the Indian Association Grounds, Lugogo.
It drew a big attendance of the Banyakigezi who live and work in the capital as well as those who travelled from other parts of the country.
The show, powered by Pilsner was an expo for the culture and heritage culture through music and dance, art, food and drinks.
It also had exhilarating music performances from a range of artists including renowned gospel singer Peace Mbabazi who captivated the audience with her hits including Ninsiima Mukama Yesu, Bwayima Yobusasi and Osiime.
She wrapped up her performance with a special performance with her husband, Jack Asaba.
Later on, the Karma queen Sheebah Karungi hit the stage, taking the temperature a notch higher with an hour long performance backed by energetic Rita dancehall.
Leveraging culture
Speaking at the event, the Pilsner Lager Brand Manager Edgar Kihumuro said, Pilsner Lager is purposefully tapping into different cultural platforms to unite its consumers in celebration while safeguarding their different cultures.
The event was also highlighted by a percussion performance by Qwela band, giving a unique fusion of modern and traditional music.
At every opportunity, attendees joined in during the Ekizino performances.
There was also entertainment from Moses Snazz, Bowman Aremwaki and a DJ Bugy takeover.
