‘I asked to raise his daughter but he picked Faridah’ - Bruno K’s sister

The family of singer Bruno K has shed light on how he took away his daughter, Briella Namuli Kiggundu from them and handed her over to his friend Faridah Nakazibwe.

Brenda Nakanjako says her brother Bruno K refused to give her his daughter Briella, choosing Faridah Nakazibwe instead

The girl, now aged 4 has been living with the former NTV news anchor for nearly two years since her mother Racheal Nasasira passed away.

Bruno was already living with Briella during her mother’s sickness, but following her death back in 2021, Bruno’s family reportedly offered to take over responsibility for the baby girl, which he turned down.

According to his sister, Brenda Nakanjako, Bruno was feeling bad about the way he treated the late Racheal and wanted this time to make amends and be there for his child.

Brenda says she begged to be allowed to keep the toddler, but Bruno was adamant.

I told him I have children here; my twins were just months older than Briella, but he said he just wanted to be with his daughter,” she narrated.

However, Brenda was surprised to learn shortly afterwards that Briella was living with Faridah Nakazibwe.

I asked him why he would take away his child from us and hand her over to a stranger,” she recounted in an interview this week.

In response, Bruno informed her that Faridah was a better option because she was living very close to him and he could easily access the girl wherever he wanted.

Bruno and Faridah had become instant friends after she interviewed him on her morning show.

The friendship had grown so strong that even the rumour mill went into overdrive about them being together.

However, the singer clarified that after a few visits to Faridah’s home, her own teenage daughters had grown fond of baby Briella and that he started leaving her with them whenever he had to go out to work.

As a musician, at times like during the weeks, things would come up and he had to leave home, so he started leaving her with Faridah’s girls and that was how the bond was gradually created," Brenda added.

In a recent birthday message, Bruno described Faridah as “the best Mum, and our role model.”
