The Kabisi Kandala singer says over the years, he realized that he does not need promoters as he's able to do anything they have to offer.
And with that, most of his concerts, big and small, he and his management have organized, including the upcoming “Nalongo” concert which is set for September 29, 2023, at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
Speaking to the press ahead of the show, Lutalo said over time he’s built enough experience to organize his own concerts after he realized that even the best showrunners in the country were no better than him.
“When a promoter comes to me, I tend to look at the kind of strategies they are bringing to the table to promote the show,” he said.
“But most of the time I realized that what someone is bringing, I can do it better; from advertisement to the venue to the equipment. So, they come to you with their concept and you realize you can execute it two times over…Then you have no reason to hire that person.”
“I now have the experience of organizing any show in any kind of venue; big or small.”
Of late, other artists such as Gravity Omutujju have gravitated toward ditching promoters to run their own shows.
And with the recent politically charged fights threatening to split up the promoters’ industry, there is a likelihood that more artists might follow suit.
Asked about what he has planned for the Lugogo concert, Lutalo said he didn't want to share much because he wanted to maintain an element of surprise for his fans.
