In pictures: How the 2023 Pulse Influencer Awards went down

It was a scintillating night of celebration, Saturday Oct 7, 2023, as the most outstanding influencers and content creators in the land for the past 12 months got to be crowned at the second edition of the Pulse (Uganda) Influencer Awards.

The exquisite Next Media Park in Naguru played host to this year’s awards which were themed; The Golden Era - Bold & Elegant.

The night was dominated by comedian Mikey Seems 2 Funny, who raked in plaques for all three categories he was nominated in; namely, Comedy, TikTok, and Instagram Influencer of the Year.

The evening kicked off on a high as the nominees, sponsor representatives and other invited guests trickled in at the scenic hilltop venue.

After enjoying drinks, a live band performance, red-carpet photo shoot, and a sumptuous dinner in the garden, it was time for the best and finest influencers and content creators of 2023 to be unveiled.

Mikey, the night’s biggest winner, paid tribute to his mother, who eh said, raised him through hardships on the streets and put him on the path to success.

So did Kenny Rukundo and Pyper Faisal, winners of the Most Influential Actor of the Year (Male) and LinkedIn Influencer of the Year respectively, who both had their mothers tag along for the night.

Some of the other big winners included young TikToker Ceci Ka Mummy, who took home the Next Gen Influencer award, Faridah Nakazibwe, who scooped the Media and Blogger Influencer of the Year award for the second year running and, Alien Skin who beat five other top artists to the Music Influencer of the year award.

The night also had a heartwarming show of solidarity, as several of the unsuccessful nominees took to the stage to show support to the winners in their respective categories.

Aaron Musoke, the Pulse Uganda Managing Director outlined plans to make the awards much bigger and more impactful in the coming years.

Each year we want to make it bigger and bigger; we want to work with more partners. For next year we have initiatives to work with more brands and bring them on board to work with influencers,” Mosoke said.
