In 2009, Bebe Cool’s wife, Zuena Kirema, temporarily separated from him and the event inspired his song Agenze. They got married in a civil ceremony on September 12, 2003, at Crane Chambers and at the time of the split, they already had kids.
Jose Chameleone didn’t take Bebe Cool seriously as a singer until 2009.

The song, which was produced by Paddy Man at Eddie Yawe’s Dream Studios, became a massive hit.
According to Chameleone, it’s this song that turned Bebe Cool into a household name.
"Bebe Cool has just become a celebrated singer,” Chameleone said in a video clip that was extracted from a TV interview held some time back. “It's after singing Agenze that people started accepting him.”
Surprisingly, Bebe Cool inspired Jose Chameleone in the early stages of his career to the extent that the latter used to drive the former around his motorcycle in order to impress him.
Chameleone at one time even stole money for buying dog’s food at home in order to afford transport to go and meet Cool so he could advise him on how to navigate the music industry.
When Chameleone went to Nairobi in 1999 it’s Bebe Cool who helped him establish himself there as Kalamashaka, the Kenyan hip-hop group that had convinced him to travel and record music with them didn’t ever show up.
They even teamed up with Kenyan crooner Redsan to form the East African Bashment Crew and recorded some songs together.
Up to now, they remain good friends despite a few episodes of beef here and there.
