How Dax Vibez, Vinka collabo came about

Dax Vibez had already completed his song and was set to film its video when a director at Swangz Avenue pointed him in a new direction.

"Dax Vibez came to studio to film a video of the song and the director advised him that it would be better if he collaborated with someone," said Vinka in a media interview when she was asked how her song with Vibez titled Believe was ideated.

According to Vinka, the director told Vibez that Swangz Avenue wouldn't mind giving him an artiste to collaborate with.

The song was then given to Vinka's manager and she was very excited when she listened to it.

"At first I thought it was mine alone and started asking when I would hit the studio," said Vinka.

She later learnt that she would team up with Vibez, real name Ivan Bugembe Sentamu, and was still excited, as they had gone to the same school though he was her junior.

"I told him this is a big song and I thank God that people have liked it," said the songstress, whose real name is Veronica Nakiyingi Lugya.

The duo went to the Kamwokya branch of Hormisdallen Schools.

Believe is a soothing earworm that was produced by Nessim and its video was directed by Aaronaire. At 800k-plus views, it's currently Vibez's most-watched song on YouTube and one of Vinka's best duets in 2023.

After primary school, Vinka went to Rubaga Girls’ Secondary School before joining Makerere University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Tourism Administration in 2017.

While she was always active in dancing and singing when she was in high school, her professional music career started taking shape when she participated in a dancing competition called HotSteps which used to be hosted by NTV Uganda.
