Lutalo owns a studio called Double Kick and Yaled is the lead producer.

Before Lutalo sang to Pretty's beat, Yaled first gave it to Mowzey Radio.

He went to Radio's house in Makindye and they agreed on the day that he would come to Double Kick to record the song.

"Maybe he drank too much the previous night," said Yaled, suggesting why Mowzey Radio, who was one-half of Goodlyfe -- didn't show up.

When he didn't come, Yaled said in an interview with Wolokoso UG Extra, David Lutalo came to the studio and found the beat playing and he sang on it.

Radio later called him and he didn't pick up.

It became Yaled's first project at Double Kick.

Yaled, who hails from Kyelinda Village in Buwenge Town Council, Jinja District, came to Kampala as a kid and started off as a radio mechanic. In his home village, he used to lay bricks and dig people's gardens to raise school fees.

He dropped out of school after he started working with his elder brother Daniel Kagoda, who had a music group called Nile Production. It's that brother who had brought him to Kampala and was also paying his school fees.

The brother hired him to collect gate fees for his group during shows. He ended up becoming the manager. In the band, he learnt how to play the piano/keyboard -- taught by one Charles Mulongo.

In two weeks, he was already good. He was then hired by Mathias Walukagga who had a group called Namige to play the piano. He would there after land gigs with other groups, namely Light Productions of Abdul Mulaasi and UB5 of Sowedi.

After about four years at UB5, he joined Surface Records of Derrick Pro. While there, he produced a number of songs, including Fake Doctor of King Michael in which he attacks Jose Chameleone.

In his previous work under music groups, he had met and worked for David Lutalo. So, while still at Surface, he called Lutalo over the phone telling him he had become a producer and he wanted to work with him.

Lutalo came and they recorded Gwenjagala, his duet with Olisha M. Shortly after, Lutalo flew out of the country and bought studio equipment. He called Yaled and they started Double Kick Studio. Their first song at the studio was Pretty by David Lutalo.
