Over time, he started copying the production process and picked interest. He then pitched the idea of learning production to his brother, singer Maro and another friend, and they would meet up to trade notes. The other three all lost interest but he didn't give up.
While appearing on Galaxy TV, Mr. Henrie asked the producer, who also goes by Andre on the Beat, to reveal who inspired him.
He said: "There's a producer called Ronnie Da Don. Up to now, he's still my friend. I respect him. I respect him as my father."
Ronnie Da Don has produced several funky jams, including Daxx Kartel's Baala, Sheebah Karungi's The Way and Ziza Bafana's Akalulu.
Born on August 12, 1980, in Nsambya to Margret Nekesa and Jackson Ojambo, Daddy Andre went to Modern Secondary School and Old Kampala Secondary School.
One of the first songs he produced was Be With You, which he sang with Gift Ov Kaddo and Beckie 256.
All the long way, he was hired by Jeff Kiwanuka to produce Nkwatako for Sheebah Karungi.
One day he recorded a song that Nutty Neithan listened to and told him not to sell but rather sing it himself. When the songstress Angela Nabuufu -- alias Ang3lina -- paid a visit, Andre told her to add her voice to the song.
She also liked it and they agreed to collaborate on it, but they later lost communication after she returned to the U.K., where she is based.
While working with Kiwanuka, Andre had also met the producer Bushington. Bushington and Jeff were both involved in the management of Goodlyfe, and after falling out with the duo, the former started managing Lydia Jazmine and Jeff started Team No Sleep.
With no connection to Ang3lina, Andre pitched the idea to Bushington who brought Jazmine to his studio. That's how You and Me was made and Andre broke through as a singer.
