Swangz Avenue drops first single from highly billed all-star album

Uganda's music enthusiasts have something to celebrate with the release of “God Ye Buddy,” the first single from the upcoming #SwangzAllStarAlbum. This gospel track unites some of Uganda’s leading artists, including Levixone, Azawi, Vinka, Elijah Kitaka, Zafaran, and Winnie Nwagi, under the production of the talented Bangar Boi. Mixed by Steve Keys, the song is a powerful expression of faith, friendship, and the omnipresent love of God.

“God Ye Buddy” delivers a message of hope and gratitude, showcasing how God is not just a guide but a best friend for these artists. The collaboration offers a blend of heartfelt lyrics and uplifting vibes that is already resonating with audiences across the country.

The song’s music video, directed by Marvin Musoke, captures the song's spiritual essence beautifully. Shot at the Munyonyo Martyrs Shrine Church, the serene location enhances the uplifting and divine feel of the track.

The visuals depict the artists dressed in white outfits, symbolising purity and holiness, aligning perfectly with the song’s message. Their immaculate appearance and the church backdrop add a layer of grace to the visuals, making “God Ye Buddy” both a visual and auditory treat.

As the first taste of the #SwangzAllStarAlbum, the track sets the stage for what’s to come in October 2024. The album has been developed as part of the Swangz Creative Camp in Zanzibar and is expected to be a landmark project for Swangz Avenue, bringing together a diverse range of East African talent. Music lovers can anticipate a rich variety of genres and fresh collaborations, all showcased through a unique blend of Uganda's top talent.
