1. Bimbula (Lyto Boss)

Josh Wonder gave this earworm by Lyto Boss sweet melodies. It’s among the most trending songs currently.

Boss is cementing his place in the arena of soothing music. Josh Wonder has recently produced sweet jams like Iryn Namubiru's Yenze and Gabriella Bridget Ntaate's Cheza for Yesu. He also produced another new love song by Boss titled Abisobola.

The video of Bimbula was directed by Usher Cax and Joe Mugabo.

2. Byadala

Nandor Love tapped Jowy Landa to feature on his song which was co-produced by Nessim and Geene. In the song, which is currently only in audio, the duo sings about the good and bad side of love. It has somewhat bouncy beats.

“Issues of love are real,” Landa belts out, “I showed you mature love and you disappointed me.”

Landa has another new love song titled Ntaawa, which was released a day before Byadala. It was produced by Shaq on the Beat.

3. Omuzaire

Omega 256 started 2024 with a groovy song that was produced by GZ Beats, who also produced Alien Skin’s first song of 2024 titled Guno Omwaka.

It seems musicians are dedicating this year to praising parents, as we’ve already seen similar songs from Vally Music and Gravity Omutujju.

The song is still in audio, with a good video it will definitely do well. It is a Runyankore song, making it another big song by a western Uganda artiste, if you also consider the remix of Zafaran’s song by T Paul.

Ray G teamed up with Megatone on Forever, which was produced by Bruno at Alpha Music studio to close off 2024 and the song has picked up on TikTok.

4. Mikono Juu

Big Eye decided to cash in on his newly earned fame, releasing Mikono Juu, which was produced by Wasafi Records producer Ayo Lizer, who has previously recorded Party Mood for Azawi and Thank God (Vinka).

While it has received negative feedback from some critics because of its lyrical content and flow, its funky beats will get you dancing. Given that it’s partly sung in Kiswahili and it has an entertaining video, it may garner massive attention. In less than a week, the video has racked up well above 300k views.

5. Oli Wa Mananyi

In this ballad, which was produced by Nessim, Juliana Kanyomozi expresses her heartfelt feelings to a loved one.

This is the second song Nessim has produced for Kanyomozi, following Omwana which was released in 2023 and had its video directed by Marvin Musoke of Swangz Avenue. It’s also the first song by Nessim in 2024.

Bonus: Practical

Practical is off Eddy Kenzo's 2023 album titled Blessings. The video of the song, which was shot by Scenery Production House, was released this week. It’s a sweet song for playing when you just want to enjoy music while sipping on a beer, cruising on a highway, or just at home chilling. Its lyrics are in Luganda, Runyankore, and English. It was produced by Mr. Miyagi.

Other new releases to look out for are Want Money by Pallaso & Konshens, which was produced by Artin Pro, with visuals shot by Dave Thymas Visuals; Spell on You by Geosteady, which was produced by Bass Boi; Njweka (Shy Shy Ug; produced by Hero Beat), Kipenzi (Sasha Brighton; Brian Beats), Amiina Remix (Gasha Mutoni ft.
