Didi, real name Abdul Karim Muchwa, produced Eddy Kenzo's Stamina, the song that turned the crooner into a household name.
The song came out toward presidential elections and Kenzo cashed in heavily as he featured in President Yoweri Museveni's campaigns.
Didi went on to produce Kenzo's other top hits like Bolingo and Sitya Loss.
Speaking to media personality and music analyst Jenkins Mukasa, Producer Didi revealed that he also produced Mama Brenda by Sweet Kid. It was the first hit he produced.
He then worked on Henry Tigan's Empisazo.
This was followed by Traffic Man Officer by Gift Ov Kado, Wampamba (Sizza Man) and My Miss (Coco Finger).
Who is Producer Didi?
Producer Didi was born in a refugee camp in Rwanda. His father belonged to the Democratic Party, and they were forced into exile by former president Miltion Obote.
They later moved to Kenya and returned after President Yoweri Museveni took over.
He came to join P.1. in Masindi. His parents had separated by then. His parents died when he was still young and life became tough.
He was initially a dancer and singer.
Producer Didi went to Progressive S.S. Bwegoyerere, the same school singer Menshan, real name Daniel Besigye (who used to sing with Peter Miles) -- attended.
He later met Vampino who introduced him to music production.
Vampino and Benon were already working together, producing music from an internet cafe.
Geoffrey Jeff Ekongot, who is currently the Uganda Musicians Association electoral chairman, taught him how to use a computer.
After producing his first song Mama Brenda and Empisazo, he moved to London for a bit.
On return, he produced Traffic Man, then Wampamba.
He used to produce, direct videos, and edit photos.
His troubles started when he was arrested in 2014 for producing Panadol Wa Basajja, which law enforcement officers said contained pornographic content.
It was a major setback that came with lots of financial challenges. During the interview, Jenkins Mukasa said some of his (Mukasa's) friends had shown interest in supporting Didi.
