While Charles Yimirira Awo has dominated TikTok with users creating challenges and videos to the song, Zani chose to submit Komawo for nomination in the Best African Music Performance category.

The prestigious awards ceremony is scheduled for February 2nd, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
If nominated, Zani would follow in the footsteps of fellow Ugandan artist Eddy Kenzo, who was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Global Music category for his song Gimme Love featuring American singer Matt B.
