For starters, a section of fans have launched an online campaign piling pressure on Swangz Avenue to give one of its brightest stars a befitting concert in her honour. The fans argue that Vinka has several hit songs suitable for a concert.

In the campaign, the fans are threatening to collect 1,000 signatures to hand over to the management.

However, Mugumbya is not moved by the antics of fans, noting that as a record label, they have their own strategic plans to consider before planning a concert.

Using the parenting analogy, he explained that the label wishes the best for its artists and will consider a Vinka concert in the future.

Of course, there is no parent who educates his child, watches them grow, and doesn’t want them to graduate or enjoy the good things of life,” he noted.

He added that the label is planning on holding a concert as management to give fans a diversified, unique experience featuring all their artists and also a number of top local stars.

She moved through the ranks at Swangz and was tasked to work as an artist manager for several of the record label’s big artists at the time. From 2013 through to 2016, she worked with Irene Ntale, Winnie Nwagi and other artists.

In late 2016, the record label she worked for asked her to convert into a musician. After consideration, she took the opportunity and signed a record deal under the stage name Vinka in February of 2017. She debuted with a single titled “Level’ followed by a collaboration with Irene Ntale "Stylo.”. As they say, the rest is history.
