The song titled ‘Doboozi Lya Mutuuze” is an addition to Gravity’s ongoing onslaught against Bobi Wine whom he accuses of being aloof to common people’s problems.
Gravity has recently been pushing Bobi Wine to donate part of his vast land in Busabala for the construction of the health facility, if he does care about the people.
However, days after posting the new song on YouTube, it was taken down on copyright grounds.
The song supposedly copied the tune of Bobi Wine’s 2006 hit song “Kiwaani.”
Gravity also shared a notification from YouTube showing that someone had reported his song for copyright infringement.
In a social media post, Gravity vented at the opposition leader for trying to silence voices against him.
“Now see the person who wants change. Because my song talks about greedy people and thieves you have decided to pull it down,” Gravity posted.
“ Now imagine a presidential hopeful doing this to a junior turned star. Imagine if you guys had power and authority.”
Gravity’s beef with Bobi Wine stems from the latter’s voiced opposition to the allocation of Shs 13 billion to Ugandan musicians.
The Ministry of Finance committed Shs13 billion that will go towards supporting artists under the Microfinance Support Centre.
The funds will be used for capitalisation of the performing artistes’ SACCO to enable them to provide financial services to stakeholders in the creative industry as well as support the development of structures for the creative industry and artistes.
