Saturday’s show amped things up with old school hip-hop, R&B, and a splash of Amapiano to get the crowd going. At precisely 9:25 PM each night, the tribute band hit the stage in full ABBA attire, opening with their iconic 1979 hit “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!,” sending the audience wild. The crowd, a mix of locals and expats, was soon up on their feet dancing to the legendary track that topped charts across Europe.

ABBA Re-Björn kept the energy flowing with fan favourites like "Super Trouper," "Mamma Mia," "Dancing Queen," and "Take a Chance on Me." The crowd, decked out in bell-bottoms, spandex, and 70s disco outfits, revelled in the retro atmosphere, enhanced by disco balls and an open-air dance floor.

The band’s charm and interaction with the audience made the night even more special, celebrating birthdays and taking selfies with fans post-show. A standout moment came from I&M Bank CEO Robin Bairstow, who not only mingled with concert-goers but showed off some impressive dance moves, encouraging the crowd to join in.

I&M Bank’s Communications Officer, Racheal Kulanyi, highlighted the bank’s commitment to customer satisfaction, noting that Mastercard holders enjoyed a 10% discount on tickets. “We’re thrilled to offer our customers such an unforgettable experience, while also rewarding them for their loyalty,” she said.

Uganda Breweries ensured there were plenty of drinks to go around, with expertly crafted Gordon’s Gin and Tanqueray cocktails adding to the party spirit. Other sponsors included Kabira Country Club and Nation Media Group.

ABBA Re-Björn, consisting of Sam, Kelly, Toby, and Marcus, continues to tour globally, cementing their reputation as one of the premier ABBA tribute acts in the world. Their Kampala performance was certainly one for the books, leaving fans with memories of a truly spectacular weekend.
