Held at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday, 31st August 2024, the event attracted a packed house, showcasing the enduring appeal of one of Uganda’s biggest music stars.

With I&M Bank Uganda as the official banking partner, the concert was a perfect celebration, with Chameleone treating fans to a near-complete run-through of his extensive music catalogue. Uncharacteristically, the show featured no curtain raisers, allowing Chameleone to dive straight into his performance, much to the delight of his fans.

The star took to the stage at exactly 9:10 pm, dressed in a striking golden robe, embodying the event's "gold" theme. He opened the night with his timeless hit, Kipepeo, instantly setting the tone for what would be an energetic and nostalgic evening. In a show of respect and admiration, the audience rose to their feet, including those in the VIP section, as Chameleone's powerful vocals filled the room.

Hosted by TV personality Dagy Nyce, the concert saw Chameleone perform for an electrifying one hour and ten minutes before taking his first break. The initial session featured a selection of his early 2000s classics, such as Beyi Kali, Mambo Bado, Befula, Nekolera Maali, Dorotia, Mama Mia, Byansi Byakuleka, and Moto Moto. The artist also thrilled fans with newer hits like Kigwa Leero, demonstrating his ability to captivate audiences with both his nostalgic and contemporary music.

As the first session neared its end, Chameleone shifted to smoother melodies, performing love ballads like Nkwagala Nyo and a heartfelt tribute to his wife, Daniella. This touching moment featured the classic song Daniella, originally sung by Papa Cidy, performed by Chameleone's son, adding a personal and emotional touch to the evening.

In the second half of the concert, Chameleone returned to the stage with even more energy, delivering hits such as Vumilia, Valu Valu, Badilisha, and Basima Ogenze. A highlight of the night was when his younger brother Weasle joined him on stage, and together they performed their crowd-favourite Bomboclat, much to the excitement of the audience.

The event drew a diverse crowd, including fellow musicians, government officials, socialites, and fans from different generations, all united in celebrating Chameleone’s music and its cultural significance. The vibrant atmosphere underscored the artist's influence over his 25-year career, bridging generational gaps and continuing to resonate with fans both young and old.

The other thing that captured the eyes of the revelers was the event production showcased by fenon events. Fenon worked with Jose Chameleone last year on his Gwanga Mujje concert and delivered as they always do.

The singing Doctor trusted them with the production of the Legend in Gold and this time again, they did a great job. The lighting, sound and the beautiful well lit stage summed up the concert's success.
