Johnnie Walker Uganda has joined forces with House of Jazz to bring Ugandans a spectacular musical event dubbed "orchestra in the city" this Saturday at the Uganda Golf Club.

Uganda’s music sensation, Maurice Kirya, will take the stage alongside the Kampala Jazz Orchestra, reimagining his timeless hits with a fresh orchestral twist.

The performance will be led by the celebrated conductor Polycarp-Quincy Kyagulanyi, a prominent name in Uganda’s music scene and lecturer at Makerere University. With a full orchestra of brass, rhythm, and string sections, including young musicians mentored by Kyagulanyi, attendees can expect an immersive big band experience like no other.

More than just a musical spectacle, the event also supports the "save the lungs of the city" initiative, aimed at protecting the Uganda Golf Club's green spaces.

Jackie Kaluletwa-Kakiza, co-founder of House of Jazz, emphasised the importance of the cause, stating, "While showcasing Uganda’s hidden musical talent, we also aim to preserve Kampala’s few remaining green spaces for future generations."

Paul Charles Rukundo, Captain of the Uganda Golf Club, echoed her sentiments, highlighting the club's vital role in maintaining the city's environmental balance.

Proceeds from the event will go towards conservation projects at the golf club, while guests will be treated to a luxurious experience featuring signature Johnnie Walker Green Label cocktails, an Asian fusion dinner, and gourmet delights. KIA Motors will also showcase their latest models, and DJ Tony will keep the party going into the night.
