Ugandan Consulate wins big at China Tourism Expo for showcasing wildlife

The Ugandan Consulate in Guangzhou has been awarded the Best Organizer accolade at the China International Tourism Industry Expo 2024, held from September 13-15. This recognition comes after the consulate's impressive promotion of Uganda's tourism, culture, and investment opportunities through captivating exhibits.

The consulate, along with the Ugandan Embassy in Beijing, showcased Uganda’s stunning natural beauty, including its famous Big Five (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalo), breathtaking waterfalls, and the allure of Ugandan coffee. Visitors were drawn to the richness of Uganda’s wildlife and cultural diversity.

Ambassador Nsababera expressed her pride in receiving the award, emphasising the consulate's dedication to establishing Uganda as a top travel destination. Following this success, the consulate has been invited to co-organize next year's event, further bolstering Uganda's international tourism reputation.

CITIE 2024, hosted in Guangzhou, is China’s largest tourism expo, with 43,000 visitors, 500 suppliers, and over 100 destinations represented, driving global tourism recovery and growth.
