“Over the festive season, my family and I visited 'Kabalega Falls National Park.' I prefer this original name to the one given to it by the colonialists,” Gen Kainerugaba said in a post which was accompanied by four pictures.

In one of the pictures, the army chief, who is also a son of President Yoweri Museveni, is seen standing with his wife, Charlotte Nankunda Kainerugaba, and four children.

In another, he is seen in conversation with Lilly Ajarova, a Ugandan conservationist and chief executive officer of the Uganda Tourism Board, and another official.

Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, in his post, said that he had found out that tourism numbers had grown more than before the Covid-19 pandemic which significantly hindered the performance of the tourism sector.

With a little more improvement in facilities and marketing, the numbers can go even higher, Gen. Kainerugaba observed.

"I was happy to see that tourist numbers now exceed those in 2019, before the pandemic. With a little more improvement in facilities and marketing the numbers can go a lot higher. I thank @ugwildlife and @UgTourismBoard for the work they are doing in protecting our wildlife resources and marketing them," he said. "We can achieve a lot more! I also thank the management and staff of @Nilesafarilodge for taking excellent care of us. Winston Churchill called Uganda the 'Pearl of Africa', I would go one more and call it the 'Jewel of the World'."
