Gen. Kainerugaba, wife Charlotte grace Kayihura’s daughter’s ‘Gusaba’

Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his wife, Charlotte, flew into Kisoro in the western region of Uganda for the traditional marriage ceremony of Tesi Uwibambe.

Uwibambe is the daughter of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen. (Retd.) Kale Kayihura.

Kayihura, who recently retired from the army, gave away his daughter to the son of Gen. Emmanuel Gasana, who is also a former IGP of Rwanda National Police.

Gen. Muhoozi, a close friend of Gen. Kayihura, was personally received by the former IGP at his home in Kisoro Municipality.

Gen. Kainerugaba arrived at the venue for the main function after greeting hundreds of locals who were thrilled to see him. He thanked them for joining his friend for the event and promised to return for further interaction with them.

At the colorful event, Gen. Kayihura thanked Muhoozi for honoring the occasion with his presence and also thanked his wife.

Gen. Kayihura took the opportunity to thank Gen. Muhoozi for his role in ensuring that the retired General received justice when he was cleared of the charges he had been battling.

The former IGP expressed confidence in Muhoozi’s credentials as the most qualified to be Uganda’s next president, highlighting his contributions in national and regional security.

In his address at the function, Gen. Kainerugaba mentioned that Kayihura was one of the few senior UPDF soldiers to welcome him and others when he joined the army.

The event was also attended by senior government leaders from Uganda and Rwanda. It will be followed by other ceremonies in Kigali.
