The event is a full-scale re-enactment of the final hours of Christ and over a hundred volunteers and actors come together to put on the epic performance. People around the world join in the commemoration performance online.

This year, there are two 90-minute performances scheduled, at Wintershall Players, one at mid-day and the second at 3:15 pm. Viewership is free and there's no need to book in advance.

It also caters to those with hearing impediments as a British sign language interpretation is present.

However, parental guidance is advised as it is a realistic presentation of the crucifixion.

It starts with the story of Jesus being arrested and tried by the Sanhedrin. According to the New Testament in the Gospel of Mark, Jesus was then crucified between two convicted thieves and died on the ninth hour of the day.

At this point, the soldiers put a sign on top of the cross that said “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews”.

On Good Friday, Christians commemorate the suffering and death of Jesus at Calvary. The word "good" on this day has been debated but some believe it developed from "God's Friday".
