Masolo said she adopted the name, which had already been popularised by Bad Black – after trying other names that didn’t appeal to TikTokers.

Bad Black was already using Masolo Queen, so she just switched the order of the name. And it worked. Her follower count rapidly increased.

She talked to YouTuber Kasuku recently and the conversation centered around how she joined the sex work industry. She was revelatory. Below is the summary.

Queen Masolo was chased away by her mother and step father when she was 14.

Left to fend for herself, the first person she contacted encouraged her to join prostitution. She refused.

She then got a job at a bar. However, she remained homeless.

She begged her workmates at the bar to take her to their home but it was a harrowing night.

Her workmates shared a bed in a shack made of timber that was near the swamp in Nateete. That night she slept on the floor, which was not cemented and covered herself with a thin cloth. It was too cold.

The next day she requested her boss for accomodation. She was offered space in a store. Her shift at the bar ended at 1am.

Musician boyfriend

The bar gig provided an opportunity for her to meet musicians and she dated one. She declined to reveal his name.

When he discovered she slept in a store, he took her to stay with his mananger in Nabweru.

While there, she dated another man in the music industry and they had a son together.

Unfortunately, she gave birth during Covid and at that time the music industry was on its knees.

Seeing the responsibilites were beyond his means, the boyfriend fled. Leaving her to fend for their child alone.

She stayed near a trading centre, so she decided to start hanging around the shops and befriended the owners.

Men started picking interest in her. She also started asking for favours.

She'd arrive at the centre at around 11am and by the time of going home, men would have bought her enough items to save the day.

"But eventually shop owners got tired of [seeing her around] and life also became harder," she said.

But she also noticed that in her neighbourhood there were girls who were always looking nice but had no clear jobs.

She would see them during the day and they would disappear in the night.

She befriended them and sought to discover how they went about life.

One of them told her she was a sex worker and she was charging men Shs150k and above.

But she discouraged her from doing that kind of work becaushe she had a child. She promised to keep supporting her.

First gig

Then one day she came and told her that she had been asked to organise a sex party that she wanted Masolo to attend.

Masolo's friend had been given Shs2 million to hire girls for the party. Masolo was to be given Shs50k just for showing up.

The party was held around Impala Avenue.

But during the party, the sponsor said he didn't like the woman he was offered. He wanted Masolo instead.

Masolo's friend told her that she would be offered another Shs200k to make her take-home 250k.

Masolo hesitated, but the friend assured her it will be a group activity and she will her guide.

When Masolo asked if they are tested for STDs, she was told they will use condoms.

To get her to fully agree, her friend told her that on top of earning money, her vagina would remain intact!.

She accepted because she "needed the money."

Welcome home

After the party, the man requested for her number and the friend encouraged her to share it.

After receiving the cash, she "liked the job."

She went home and shopped for her kid and other home essesntials. She was even able to hire a maid.

Two days later, the man called her and sent her Shs200k when she told him her problems.

After a few weeks, he called her to another sex party and gave her $100 to pay rent. He told her to hide it from her friends. She was given another Shs300k in the morning for her job.

As the party went on, men would throw around 50k notes, which served as tips.

This time she was staying along Salaama Road in Munyonyo.

Songstresses

Queen Masolo said most female musicians are also in the prositution business. She said she also released a song because she realised having a title of musician elevates your price.

She said upcoming musicians are paid around Shs2m for sex and she knows an established musician who earns as much as Shs100m.

She said most musicians are connected to rich men through pimps/brokers.

Some of these pimps approach women through social media, which is why some of the girls are always posting thirst-traps.

She also said that some rich women also pay men to sleep with them.

Queen Masolo is still single and she only dates men who are “generous with money.”
