The Toyota brand of cars have mainly dominated the market just like the previous years. This is mostly as a result of many factors including them being fuel friendly and easy to maintain.
Uganda is not a car manufacturing country, at least not in huge quantities as is the case with major car manufacturing countries such as Japan, Germany and the UK et cetera. But the citizens do love cars.

Micheal Kibuuka, a car mechanic in Kyaliwajjala, reiterates that a car being fuel friendly and easy to maintain is a major factor in Uganda that determines whether it will be easily taken up by Ugandans or not.
“Most of our people here are not that rich but would want to own a car for different reasons. So, they prefer cars that are easy to maintain and are fuel friendly,” he told me.
That said, I will now delve into cars that have sold most this year according to most car bonds I surveyed.
Fielder
Ugandans have embraced the Toyota Fielder with one heart. This is a four-seater car. One can get a newer model between sh30-35m
Vitz
This car has been around for sometime now. It is usually associated with younger ladies and a newer model usually goes for between sh20-30m.
Harrier
Harrier compared to the previous two is more expensive, but this hasn’t stopped Ugandans from buying it. The car is considered friendlier to our road terrain give that it is raised unlike Vitz and Fielder. A newer model may go for between sh35-45m.
Sienta
This is with no doubt one the cars that have sold most this year. The car is a four-seater and can also double as a family car – depending on how big your family could be. A newer model goes for between sh25-35m although one can get it lower price depending on where and who you are buying from.
Subaru Forester 2.0 D XC
You will most likely meet this type of car in high-end residential areas. The car compared to the previous ones is more expensive to buy and consumes more fuel. Ugandans have however gone on to buy it. The car’s cost ranges from sh30-45m
Toyota Mark x
The Toyota Mark X is a car that is popular among people in their 30s. The car is generally cost friendly. It costs between sh20-25m.
