Brian and Namakula 

Starting off this list is a young couple which has been on the platform for a few months, but their touching love story has earned them rapid followership.

Brian Byabasaija and his white partner who goes by the Kiganda name Namakula operate a tour and travel company.

The couple has captivated followers as they document their lives living in a small rented room in one of the Kampala cities. Their posts include doing ordinary house chores, travelling to different parts of the country, partying and showing affection for one another.

Byabasaija in one of the posts also discusses how he is often approached in his inbox by his Ugandan followers who wish to be connected to foreigners for love.

Rose Adkin and Wu Jianyun

These two don’t need any introductions. With over 1.8 million followers on TikTok, the couple has built a strong and loyal followership over the years.

Rose met and started dating Wu over seven years ago, through his cousin who was working in Uganda. She has since lived with her husband in China and recently had their second child.

Adkin has become an internet sensation In Uganda, around the world and especially in China where her videos about living a rural Chinese life are beloved.

Josh and Emily 

This couple has been together for nearly a decade. Their TikToks document their marriage and day-to-day lives in Uganda where they are raising four adopted children.

Recently, however, they decided to relocate permanently to the UK, Emily’s home country where they hope Josh can get a better-paying job. They also wish to secure better education, health services and opportunities for their children.

Ainebyoona and Juman

This is one of the newest couples on Ugandan TikTok.

Grandchild Ainebyoona lives and works in India. A few weeks ago, he linked up with Juman on Instagram and they started dating.

Less than two weeks later, she travelled 3000km from Punjab in the North of India to Kerala in the South to meet him. The trip lasted 3 days on a train.

Their posts bear all the hallmarks of a fresh and bubbling love as well as stories about her family and culture. They also often respond to concerns raised by their followers about the nature of their relationship and the sociocultural differences.


Clerks 256 and Filipino 

These two met and started dating in the Philippines in 2022. A year later they travelled to Uganda where they had their wedding.

Their posts feature the lady learning Luganda, Ugandan cultures and practices as well as lots of love-related TikTok challenges

Juliet Kunihira Phay and Mr Pink Muzungu

Juliet and her partner provide a perfect example of blending fun with hard work. The couple operates a laundry mart in one of the city suburbs, which they built from the ground up and documented on TikTok.

They are famed for their funny TikTok trend videos but also sharing useful insights about entrepreneurship in Uganda.

Felicia Nosipho and Scizz Pest 

Although these are not an interracial couple, Scizz and his South African girlfriend have endeared themselves on the platform. Their videos prominently feature the couple learning and teaching each other words and phrases from their respective languages (Luganda and IsiZulu), many of which sound alike.
