Independent Magazine founder and CEO Andrew Mwenda is heavily trending on Twitter for all the wrong reasons. The motormouth first family influencer has been in the top five trends ever since singer Sheebah Karungi posted a video on Monday in which she said that some highly connected person had sexually assaulted her over the weekend.

Although Sheebah didn't name any names, Twitter users are consistently pointing fingers at Mwenda as the unnamed culprit. How we all got here is a mystery.
Mwenda was once beloved to the nation when he was a government critic 10 years ago and beyond. But once he changed his stance and became pro-government, many seem to have taken it personally.
Mwenda is also one of the big voices and provocateurs that are seen to be fighting the current darling of the Kampala politically-charged masses, Robert Kyagulanyi, and his party National Unity Platform, which is currently the biggest opposition political party in the country. It is therefore easy to see why many people would just jump on an allegation that makes Mwenda look bad and focus on it with full-blown vitriol.
It is highly conceivable that people look at Mwenda as a good fighter that betrayed the oppressed masses and joined the oppressor, a perspective that motivates the kind of attacks that he is suffering today. So while people are still pestering Sheebah to name the 'old pervert' that sexually assaulted her, many have already made up their mind that Mwenda is the culprit. Such is the mob justice that Twitter can be.
So again, what makes you think Mwenda is the "old perv" that sexually assaulted Sheebah?
