Bobi Wine on Sunday encouraged members of his opposition party not to shy away from working with their colleagues in the NRM in areas that benefit all Ugandans, such as fighting corruption.

“It doesn't matter if it is the opposition leader or an NRM leader that stole. Corruption affects all of us. No matter whom you support, you will be affected.

“I think we should be looking for a common good which helps us all and to identify the wrong regardless of who did it. We have to avoid the notion that only NRM people steal or only the opposition steal. The good thing is God has shown us recently that graft is everywhere,” he said.

Bobi Wine made these remarks at the funeral of Mze Joseph Nsamba, the father of Kassanda North MP Patrick Nsamba.

In his speech, Bobi Wine stated that just like both the ruling party and the opposition have corrupt people, they both have good leaders as well.

He pointed out the example of Hon Theodore Ssekikubo, the Lwemiyaga County MP as well as other NRM members who have lately been at the forefront of fighting graft in Parliament.

The NRM also has good people…the likes of Ssekikubo and Sarah Opendi,” he said.

If you put me in a debate with Ssekikubo, I don't even know how to criticise him. He has truly challenged me with his insistence on doing good. Let us continue in that direction because that is how we shall move our country.”

Hon Ssekikubo and Opendi have spearheaded the campaign to pass a vote of no confidence in the former NUP Vice President Mathias Mpuuga and three other NRM commissioners for allocating themselves Shs 1.7 billion as service awards.

Ssekikubo who was in attendance at the burial, reported to Mr Bobi Wine that several of his NUP MPs had refused to append their signatures on the censure motion.
