The Magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced Danfulani after he pleaded guilty to the charge. The magistrate, however, gave the convict an option to pay ₦50,000.

Bokkos also ordered the convict to pay ₦600,000 as compensation. Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Ahmed Labaran told the court that the case was reported on April 14, at the ‘A’ Division Police Station Jos by Linus Damak, the complainant.

The prosecutor said that the convict was given ₦700,000 to buy fertiliser but he misappropriated the money. The offence, according to him, is punishable under the Plateau state Penal Code Law.
