Pastor Joseph Serwadda of Victory Church in Ndeba and Pastor David Kiganda of Christian Focus Center in Kisenyi Kampala who made the call told the community to stop blaming born-again church leaders for encouraging fake pastors to operate in the country.
Government of Uganda has been urged to take action against fake pastors in the country.

They believe Government has the responsibility to regulate and streamline the operations of these churches, therefore, it’s the responsibility of the state to limit the presence of fake pastors.
“We urge our Government to rake action against fake pastors. We are constantly being blamed for encouraging the vice, but the state has the responsibility to regulate and streamline the churches,” they said.
The two pastors made the remarks while receiving sponsorship packages from MTN Uganda as the company continues sponsoring a series of end-of-year events to be held across the country as the world crosses over to the New Year, 2023.
For a long time, there has been an outcry from members of the public about fake pastors fleecing their followers.

In 2018, Police arrested a pastor for alleged forging and uttering false documents with intent to inherit riches belonging to the late wife who died of unknown circumstances.
Pastor Samuel Bashan Zziwa an associate pastor at Full Gospel Church Makerere allegedly forged letters of administration to acquire authority over the properties belonging to the late wife Dr. Agnes Namutebi a former lecturer at Makerere University.
The forgeries were doctored with the help of his lawyer identified as Musoke Moses an employee of SOMMA Associates.
