President of the NUP party, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was unable to attend the burial which took place in Kadunda Village, Nakaseke District. He however sent mourners a statement, through a telephone message, that put leaders at the burial on high alert of political agendas.
Hajji Abdul Nadduli, father of the late Suleiman Jakana Nadduli, social media activist and government critic, was evacuated from his son's burial after National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters entered a fist fight.

In one of the messages, Kyagulanyi said accused government of political intolerance and schemes targeting the total subjugation of human rights.
“This is the price that many Ugandans are paying to get freedom. It is unfortunate that our people should die because the dictators have no room for freedom of expression," one of the messages reads in part.
Following the messages, Henry Ssebunya, the deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Kiryandongo, called upon mourners to remain calm and to not turn the burial into a campaign platform.
This infuriated NUP supporters then engaged a section of National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters in a fist fight.
Abdul Nadduli was subsequently evacuated and taken to safety.
In his condolence message to the family, President Museveni said that Jakana's death came as a shock and sympathised with the family.
He cautioned Ugandans against taking opinions over established information.
"Our fighters should be careful and not fall prey to the reckless talks regarding matters that have been investigated and facts available," he said in a message delivered by State Minister for Kampala Kabuye Kyofatogabye.
Kyofatogabye delivered Shs10 million to the family from Museveni to help with the funeral arrangements.
