Breaking: Bobi Wine 'shot' in Bulindo

Bobi Wine has allegedly been shot and injured, his party the National Unity Platform (NUP) has announced.

The opposition leader was hit in the leg by security forces in Bulindo, Kira in Wakiso district according to the party.

A video posted by the party shows Bobi Wine being helped up into a waiting Toyota Harrier by his team.

The video then pans to a police pick up truck number UP 5752, with two police officers riding in the trunk.

The person on the camera points at one of the officers who allegedly shot at the opposition leader.

The NUP described this an attempt on their leader's life.

" Security operatives have made an attempt on the life of President @HEBobiwine. He was shot in the leg and seriously injured in Bulindo, Wakiso District," the video is captioned.

Bobi Wine was rushed to Nsambya Hospital for treatment.

Here, a number of NUP leaders including the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Joel Ssenyonyi were present as Bobi Wine got wheeled into the ward.

Blood could be seen oozing from his left leg.

Inside, some social media videos showed medics working hard to stop the bleeding.

Bobi Wine, at some point orders his team members to stop recording him.
