Onapito Ekomoloit, the former Presidential Press Secretary and one-time Member of Parliament for Amuria, will be laid to rest in November, as confirmed by Minister for Presidency Milly Babalanda.

Minister Babalanda announced the arrangements on Monday, September 30, stating, “After discussions with the family, lawyer of Hon. Onapito Ekomoloit, and the National Organising Committee (N.O.C) at the Cabinet library today, it was decided to proceed with burial plans according to the deceased’s will.”
She added, “Hon. Onapito will be buried in late November this year, as he wished. N.O.C, the family, and Parliament will provide further updates on the final arrangements in early November. Our prayers are with the bereaved during this difficult time.”
Onapito Ekomoloit passed away on Friday, September 7. Known for his contributions to journalism, politics, and business, he initially made his mark as a senior reporter at The Monitor (now Daily Monitor), later establishing his own outlet, The Crusader.
His tenure as Presidential Press Secretary preceded his transition to the corporate sector, where he served as Director of Corporate Affairs at Nile Breweries.
Following his retirement from that role, he was appointed Board Chairman of the company, a position he held until his sudden passing.
