This development comes soon after the KCCA executive director, Dorothy Kisaka, led a team appearance at Parliament to answer the annual audit queries arising from the Auditor General’s annual report.

The Kisaka led team was faulted for returning funds meant for recruiting more workers. The funds totaling sh13.5b were returned to the consolidated fund in the financial year 2021-22 without recruiting workers.

The team explained that recruitment is a function of the commissions. The health workers are recruited by the Health Service Commission, and the recruitment of teachers is a function of the Education Service Commission. The team said the recruitment process was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, we have now learnt that the Public Service Commission chaired by Musoke Kabogoza has completed its work of recruitment of the directors and deputy directors

This reporter has now learnt that the President has filled the gaps at KCCA and appointed six new Directors in the Directorates.

The new directors include those for Engineering and Technical Services, Treasury Services, Legal Affairs, Gender and Community Services.

They will commence their duties after due process. Likewise, new deputy directors have been recruited and will soon commence work

While we may not be able to reveal the names of the new entrants at this time, we can confirm that KCCA top leadership line up is boosted with six new directors which will ease the oversight role of the top leadership. More updates to follow on this.

The process of recruitment for the other levels is on-going even as whistleblowers continue to speculate on which posts are yet to be filled.

The head of directorate of administration and human resource, Grace Akullo, has not yet published the full new list of the new entrants.
