According to President Museveni, the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) has always been centred on adaptability.

"Prioritisation is critical to our success. Focusing on what truly matters ensures our effectiveness instead of being spread too thin. I therefore congratulate the CDF, engineering brigade, contractors, and everyone involved in this project."

President Museveni also highlighted the force's ambitious projects aimed at boosting the education sector and optimising resources to support the families of army personnel.

"Our commitment to the UPDF's capacity is unwavering. Embracing strategic decisions such as providing free education and supporting army schools is essential for our progress," he remarked.

"During challenging times when our financial resources were limited, I suggested to the late Col. Sserwanga Lwanga the idea of utilising the land around the barracks for economic activities to support the soldiers' families. It is gratifying to see that this suggestion was embraced, and I am grateful for the soldiers' dedication to boosting their incomes."

The event held yesterday was attended by the Commander of Land Forces, Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga, along with other UPDF service chiefs and commanders.
