'NBS Live At 9’ bulletin revamped

This past week marked a significant milestone in Uganda's media landscape as NBS TV launched the revamped ‘Live At 9’ bulletin at the Next Media Park, with the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The event brought together notable figures from various sectors, including Fred Otunnu, the Director of Corporate Affairs at the UCC, and Dr. Lawrence Muganga, the Vice Chancellor at Victoria University, alongside NBS TV journalists and esteemed guests.

Before unveiling the revamped bulletin, a thought-provoking panel discussion was hosted by ‘NBS Morning Breeze’ anchor Mildred Tuhaise.

The panelists, including Next Media Deputy Group CEO Joseph Kigozi, Media Challenge Institute CEO Abaas Mpindi, and TBWA Copywriter Edward Nimusiima, shared insights on the evolving trends in news consumption and the importance of catering to the needs of younger demographics.

Joseph Kigozi emphasized the changing global trends and the necessity of adapting to the preferences of younger audiences, highlighting the importance of innovation in news delivery. Abaas Mpindi, CEO of Media Challenge Institute, underscored the role of news in inspiring young people daily, emphasizing the need for journalists to connect with their audience and tell stories that resonate with them. Nimusiima stressed the importance of simplifying content for easy digestion and ensuring accessibility for all.

Kin Kariisa, CEO of Next Media Group, attributed the Live At 9 bulletin revamp to the network's commitment to delivering accessible, balanced, and innovative content to Ugandans. He reiterated the importance of staying ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving media landscape and maintaining viewers' trust through accurate and reliable reporting.

Minister Chris Baryomunsi hailed NBS TV for its innovative approach to news delivery, commending the network for its commitment to balance, impartiality, and accessibility for all Ugandans. He urged NBS TV to continue on this path, emphasizing the crucial role of the media in informing and empowering the public.

The launch of the revamped ‘Live At 9’ bulletin represents a bold step forward for NBS TV in its mission to redefine news consumption in Uganda. With a focus on trust, balance, and engagement, the network is poised to remain a trusted source of information for audiences nationwide.
