The show, which aired on Thursday evening, was packed with a tension which was primed to explosion when Lukwago chose to remind Opondo, who was there in his capacity as Executive Director of Uganda Media Center, about the incident where he shot and killed a person 18 years ago at Kampala Parents’ Primary School.
NBS TV Frontline talk show flared up into the fireworks that come with flying fists instead of hard-hitting debating points as panelist Ofwono Opondo leaped from his seat and threatened Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago live on air.

Instead of Lukwago’s words pacifying Opondo into a less than belligerent debating stance, Opondo decided that it was time he introduced Lukwago to his fists.
As with any shouting match that descends into a potential boxing match, the other panelists looked on with surprise as the political show witnessed Opondo attempt to introduce a new fighting style.
No, not Taekwondo, Hapkido, Jeet Kune Do or Aikido, this one was Ofwono Opon-do.
After almost punching Lukwago’s lights out, the allegedly armed Opondo threatened the mayor with physical violence.
“I can throw you out of this show. Yes, I can throw you out,” Opondo shouted.
The moderator of the show Charles Mwanguhya Mpagi seemed to wilt like a flower on the vine as he looked on helplessly before the show ended.
“Short of words to explain what has happened to me at the NBS TV Frontline. Horrible, despicable!!. Fellow Ugandans, it’s Horrible. My only prayer is that I get out of this place safely!” he posted on his social media handles,” Lukwago posted on social media.
NBS TV management is expected to ban Opondo for his untoward behaviour.
