Police investigating a Mukono home break-in that saw property worth millions stolen

The victim came out of the house to lock the small gate, which was still open. She was unfortunately, attacked by a group of 6 thugs armed with one gun and several machetes, who had already camped in her home. They chased and grabbed her as she tried to run into the house. The thugs robbed cash Ugx 100,000/=, 5 smart mobile phones, laptop, flat Tv screen and a motor vehicle Spacio, white in colour, under registration number UAZ283X and immediately drove away from the scene.

The other two injured victims were identified as Deborah Natumanya, a 29-year-old, female adult and Tukashaba Paul, a 39-year-old, staff of Uganda Railway. They were rushed to IMC hospital in Mukono with injuries to the head, hands and legs.

"We urge the public to take extra care when inside their homes. Home invasions and robbery attacks, where suspects enter the compound and lie for the doors or gates to open, is one of the most serious and potentially dangerous crimes in the country. Its therefore, important to always remain vigilant and practice safety measures, while inside the house further ensure all gates, doors and windows are effectively closed, constantly monitor any form of invasion in the compound," Police Spokesman, Fred Enanga says.

Police says that one of the immediate neighbours saw what was happening but did not react by alerting the police or other local politicians.

Police is aggressively building on leads gathered surrounding the suspects.
