‘No time for shallowness’ - Rwabwogo hits back at Gen Muhoozi

Odrek Rwabwogo has spoken out following a social media attack aimed at him by his brother-in-law, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

In a video response, Rwabwogo termed the first son's post as “lies…aimed at diverting us from the important work we are doing.”

“I ask that you leave us out of this shallowness because we don’t have time to abandon what matters for our country to engage in that which seeks to destroy all of us as a country,” he stated without mentioning the general directly.

Gen Muhoozi, who serves as the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) of the UPDF, recently went on a tirade, accusing Rwabwogo of being “Uganda’s biggest thief.”

Mzee, you arrested my friend, Michael Mawanda and you are comfortable taking pictures with the BIGGEST THIEF in Uganda,” posted Gen Muhoozi.

Muhoozi’s attack was ostensibly aimed at the Rwabwogo’s work as the head of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID).

Rwabwogo said the attack left his team hurt.

Meanwhile, Rwabwogo also sought to dismiss as “fake,” an audio recording in which he purportedly used vulgar insults against Gen. Muhoozi.

That voice is not mine and I cannot lend my tongue to this evil talk,” he clarified.

There have been many of these fake videos and audio, since December 2019 circulated against me, targeting me and the work that I do,” he said.

This is simply subverted thinking stalked by people for their own purposes. …Insulting people and lying about them is not a god-honouring practice; it is a suboptimal degraded behaviour that I cannot engage in,” he added
