According to the documents showing the registration of the marriage, the two were registered on August 15 2022. But within 24 hours, the marriage was cancelled by the Town Clerk of Makingye Division Urban Council, Geoffrey Rwakabale.
The marriage between Speaker of Parliament and Bukedea District Woman legislator Anita Among and Budiope East legislator and Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president Moses Hassim Magogo has been rejected by the Division Customary Marriage Register.

In a letter dated August 16 2022, Rwakabale wrote to the Registrar of Marriages for Kampala district informing them that he had removed the marriage from the register.
"The purpose of this communication, therefore, is to [rescind] and withdraw the registration and to inform you that I have formally deleted the couple from the Division Customary Marriage Register,” Rwakabale wrote.
The letter was allegedly also received by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) that same day.
In the same letter, Rwakabale informed the Registrar of a letter he had written on the same day the couple registered, saying that he had discovered inaccuracies in the couple's application which forced him to halt the registration to investigate said inaccuracies.
“Please refer to my letter reference number MKD/KCCA/1308/06 dated August 15th, 2022 on the registration of the customary marriage of Magogo Moses Hashim and Among Anita Annet. I have discovered glaring omissions and errors occasioned to me as a consequence of duress while processing this matter,“ he concluded.
Last month, local media was awash with images of the couple celebrating their new marriage in a customary traditional ceremony. Due to Magogo's Muslim faith, Among became the third wife he has been married to.
New developments from the Marriage registration procedure, however, show that the marriage is invalid.
